Hey Everyone!
Wow it was a busy week! Well ill start off by saying that i got letters from Quinn with 2 pictures of Tylers farewell, and from Mom with his talk and a letter from the Davis'! It was so great! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! Im so sorry mom that youve been sick all week! :( It sounds like you have malaria. haha
My week was an interesting one.. I had meetings every day! i really dont like meetings because it cuts into our teaching time and it really just hurts the work. But Tuesday i had district meeting as usual and coordination with the Ward mission Leader. Wednesday we had "Zone Ecclaté" its like zone confrence, from 2 oclock- 10! It took FOREVER! but it was really good. After, President and i had an interview, it was so funny! Both him and i were just so exhausted! we just laughed and laughed and laughed the whole time. It was so funny..He really is a funny guy when you understand his humor. Thursday we had a meeting at the Mission home for all the district leaders which was 6 hours long from 7am to 1pm. Im learning how to be patient. haha Sitting for 6 hours after a night of meetings is a lot but really the meeting went great! My investigators are doing really well! They are all progressing well and we have another baptism this saturday. About all the families, im just waiting for the okay to baptize them. President has to get the okay from (i think) the area authority. Its just a lot of people to enter at one time. And after baptism the church is now responsible for them. So that is the current news for them. This week I stumbled on two families of muslums who really didnt want us there. found a woman who claims she was possessed by a spirit for 2 1/2 years and blames herself for her 1 year old babys death. I also taught 3 "Apostles". We
didnt have water and electricity for 2 days, but we survived. Theres never a dull moment here. Oh and i was finally able to watch conference yesterday for church!
Oh about my camera! Elder Essel fixed my charger with a knife haha but the problem is the flash. Its like the flash is just a little bit off so if i take a picture its either really dark or really bright.. i dont know what to do. Do you all have the reciept for that?
I love you all and i am constantly praying for you. My companion and i are doing well. Hes growing a lot. I can already see a large change in him. I love you all and i am doing well.
Befor i let you all go I wanted to share with you a testimony that i heard yesterday. We were teaching one of our recent converts at a members home. Their familys name is Ouyere (Oye-air-ee). Her and her husband have been married for 2 years and have a little baby boy. They live in a 2 room house about the size of our kitchen or smaller. 1 room is for sleeping and the other is the kitchen and living room. We taught the commandment of tithing. After we taught the lesson we turned the time over to her and her husband to bare their testimonies. Sister Ouyere bore one that just really touched my heart. She said "Matild (the converts name), look around. Two years ago we had nothing. The furniture (which consisted of a small table that goes up to our knees, and 3 wooden chairs and a pad thing for her baby)that you see wasnt here. But it is here now because we pay our tithing." She started to tear up and said "the Lord has given us everything." Their tiny family is so humble yet happy. I think of all the things i had just in my bedroom that surpased what this family will probably ever have. And how i took it all for granted. I wanted to share my testimony that i know that blessings are constantly being poured out from heaven. But are we counting them? I am thankful for this mission and all the wonderful people here and their examples. I know that there is joy found in the commandments. There is peace and comfort that can carry us through even the hardest times. May we all count our blessings and recognize the Lords hand in our lives is my prayer in the name of my Savior Jesus Christ, amen.
